My Spleen Is At Your Disposal
How my Human Design shapes the way I give intuitive consultations
People have asked how I’m able to access the information for readings — if it comes directly from the meanings of the cards or if I perceive it through my mind’s eye, or what. I used to not know how to reply to these questions. From my point of view, I just know things.
However, five years ago when I started studying Human Design, I learned that my aura was designed for this work. This modality also explains where I shine as an intuitive consultant and where my limitations are. It amounts to what I’m built for and what I’m not.
In the language of Human Design, I’m what’s called a Splenic Projector.
That means my intuition doesn’t operate through emotion, occasional flashes of insight, or long reflection. It operates through the Spleen Center, which in Human Design is associated with instinct, pattern recognition, and moment-to-moment awareness. Splenic intuition is fast and quiet. It tends to arrive as a subtle knowing — a quick perception of what’s healthy, what’s aligned, and what isn’t.
When I’m doing a reading, this often shows up as an immediate sense of the underlying dynamics in a situation. I may see very quickly:
where the real leverage point is
what decision would move things forward
where someone is fighting against the natural flow of events
Because the insight comes quickly, my role isn’t to slowly unpack a story over the course of an hour. Instead, my work tends to focus on recognizing the pattern and articulating it clearly. In that sense, the title of this post is quite literal: when you sit down for a reading with me, my spleen really is at your disposal!
Why I Can Tune in Quickly
Another aspect of my design in Human Design is that I have only two defined Centers: the Spleen and the Root. My other seven Centers are all open. In Human Design, open Centers are often described as places where we are especially receptive to other people’s energy and information.
In practice, this means that when I’m sitting with a client, I can often feel into many layers of their experience very quickly. The open Centers function almost like receivers — places where I can pick up signals about what someone is thinking, feeling, or navigating. I sometimes think of them less as empty spaces and more as portals of perception.
Because so much of my design is open, my system tends to register a wide range of information during a reading: emotional tone, mental patterns, relational dynamics, and the overall direction of a situation. My Splenic intuition then filters that information very quickly and highlights what seems most important.
This is part of why my consultations tend to move rapidly toward recognizing the core pattern rather than spending a long time gathering background.
It’s also why I prefer to approach readings as a focused container rather than an ongoing energetic entanglement. The openness that makes me perceptive also means I work best when the exchange is clear and intentional.
Where My Readings Tend to Shine
As a Splenic Projector I’m designed to help others navigate and strategize. I do well in the following situations:
decision-making and crossroads
understanding complex relationship dynamics
strategic life or career moves
manifestation and forward momentum
identifying hidden influences shaping a situation
Where My Work Is Less Well Suited
With my only defined Centers being the Root and Spleen, I was not built for heavy lifting. Other practitioners will be better equipped to do the following:
long therapeutic processing of trauma
sessions focused primarily on emotional unpacking
repeated reassurance readings
philosophical or mystical exploration without practical application
If you’re looking for clarity about the underlying dynamics of a situation and practical guidance about what to do next, my intuitive style may be a good fit.
